What a human is unbeatable at
A trainer standing next to you sees the thing no log can record: the knee that caves on the fifth rep, the bar path drifting forward, the breath you are holding for too long. Technique correction in real time is the single strongest argument for hiring one, especially in your first year under a barbell or when you return after an injury.
The second argument is accountability with a face attached. Paying someone who expects you on Tuesday at seven is a different psychological contract from a notification. If your problem is showing up rather than programming, a human solves it and software rarely does.
- Technique correction while the set is happening
- Injury history and rehab progressions handled by someone qualified
- Competition day handling, warm up timing and attempt selection
- Accountability that costs money when you skip
